VNSF enables underprivileged students in Viet Nam to achieve success and happiness through education.
VNSF believes in a world where all children are given the opportunity for quality education, regardless of their socioeconomic backgrounds. We envision a place where Vietnamese children are able to break the cycle of poverty by acquiring the education and skills needed to reach their full potential.
VNSF seeks to transform the lives of thousands of children in Viet Nam by providing opportunities for education and literacy. Working in collaboration with local communities and partner schools, we grant on-going scholarships to disadvantaged children and create active reading rooms to promote literacy among primary school students.
Our Impact So Far
We have provided scholarships to over 500 disadvantaged students in the provinces of Ca Mau, Bac Lieu, Dong Thap, Hau Giang, An Giang and Ho Chi Minh City. To encourage graduation, our scholarship is renewed every year as long as the student remains in school. Many of our students have graduated high school and gone on to vocational school or college. Several of our students were in middle school when they first received VNSF scholarships 8-10 years ago and are now in college, still receiving scholarships.
We also have renovated 5 libraries in elementary schools that serve over 3,000 students. Each of our partner schools is committed to operating and maintaining these reading rooms, and in return we continue to supplement their library with books year after year.
In special circumstances, we provided bicycles to scholarship recipients. They spent less time traveling to and from school, allowing them to not only get to school more reliably but also allow them more time to study.
